ACRA CHARITABLE DONATION 2025
The donation this year was made to the Habilitas Foundation and its partner the Mackay Centre-Philip E. Layton school. The Habilitas Foundation is the result of years of committment to a better world on behalf of a number of organizations. Today Habilitas is the official foundation of Action Centre, Camp Massawippi, Constance Lethbridge Centre MAB-Mackay and the QuebecFederation of the Blind (QFB).
ACRA's donation is twofold. Firstly a $1000 gift to the goal of purchasing a "Rocket Table" which will transform therapy for children with physical disabilities , providing safety, comfort and the flexibility they need to thrive. The second part of our donation is the purchase of an adapted toy for the Mackay Centre- Philip E. Layton school. There is a delay for this purchase due the tariff situation since most of adapted materials have been purchased from the USA. The staff is looking for a Canadian option and will make the purchase shortly.
Charles Jeannotte and Kevin Marciniak visited the Mackay Centre location on Sherbrooke Street were warmly welcomed by the Philanthropy Director Sean Zikman. They were given a tour of the facility and were able to view the many different programs available at that centre. There is another visit planned to the Philip E. Layton Centre at the Terrebonne location on May 1. This will be an open house where the vistors will have an opportunity to use many of the various aids.
ACRA is proud to have made a contribution to the support of the Habilitas Foundation and the amazing things that it does.
